The part in question is a convex mirror about the right size. I have ordered one from my local JD dealer to see what they look like. Cost is $37.05 plus appropriate gouge and screw taxes!

If you don't have a John Deere dealer near you try an International farm implement dealer or AGCO dealer or Kubota dealer. Most tractors with cabs have the same or similar style convex interior rear view mirror. The John Deere mirror is some what larger (better field of vision) than the original but far cheaper than Argentine e-bay mirrors and is mounted the same as the original with a theaded stud. A very good substitute that I've used on the 15 CWT for several years now.
