The death toll now stands at 126 as at 2.42PM Monday.
One place for donations can be found on the Melbourne Herald-Sun Newspaper website. Just click on the link on this page. So far Euan has been unable to visit his father in law's property as the roads are still closed due not just to crews clearing trees from the roads but also the sad and ongoing search for bodies.

I have never seen a 'good' bushfire. (have lost acquaintances in the past...)
My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones. They can never be replaced. Here, we're lucky this year the fire is way to the South and West of Shoalhaven. In 2002 we had the worst of it. I filled the bath and water tanks in case we were threatened, luckily the fire split and went south of the river.. I am North. Those people in Vic never stood a chance. Even the corrugated iron was melted. Even I have never seen a bushfire do that! My hometown has a fire nearby (to Bega, NSW, near Wyndham where I rode motorbikes as a kid) We're all hopeful that it will not spread towards the other towns. I hope Euan & family are well, or at least safe. The vehicles are replaceable. People are not. Ian

I still find it hard to comprihend the scale of this disaster, and the size of the death toll.
One REMLR member has lost 2 Acco's to it as he is on holidays in QLD. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more vehicles lost in all of this.

Euan has just called from Glenburn where he has taken a load of hay for the cows and reports they have been very fortunate with the house and main sheds surviving.
The fire burnt right up to the winch truck Euan has been working on but didn't damage it. The casualties are a couple of tyres on the back of one of the F15s and another on a rear axle and also some fire damage to the rear body section of a No9 CGT. Will post some pictures when the become available. As for the larger situation more and more is being revealed in all it's tragedy, human stories starting to come through, stories of survival and loss... the worst is it is a long way from being over.

A very dark period for all Australians. I hear the Salvation Army has received over $2million in a little over 24 hours. Judging by the size of the disaster, much much more will be needed... The best way for us Aussies to help is donate blood. All MLU'ers! especially SA, VIC, NSW, donate ASAP! HH

300+ on our news today. After the twin towers a number of us offerred accomodation to the US personnel (distance didn,t help.) Am trying among neighbours who like me have cottages on the beach to make an offer for survivors to jump the ditch and re energise away from this mess. Will be approaching the Oz High Commission in the next few days.
