I posted the list of the SdSH Sherman names here on ML about two years ago.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208...stories+-+LdSH

Tank types for LdSH would be as followers
  • Regt HQ tanks - Sherman V
  • Sqn HQ tanks - Sherman V with two tanks being replaced by 105mm Sherman Ibs starting in October 1944
  • OP tanks - LdSh did not have ture OP tanks like those used by Artillery units, instead a number of their Sherman Vs were fitted with a second radio beside the co-driver and could be used by Arty FOOs attached to the LdSH as required.
  • Recce Troop - Stuart Vs without turrets in Italy. replaced by Stuart VI with turrets after their move to NWE in March 1945
  • Ammo tanks- Stuart V tanks without turrets discarded from recce troop and converted to ammo carriers in March 1945.
  • Gun tanks - Sherman Vs with one 75mm tank in each troop being replaced by a Sherman IC starting in October 1944. Second Firefly (Sherman IC or Sherman V) added to each troop after move to NWE in March 1945. Note that each fighting troop in LdSH only had three tanks in Italy, but had four tanks in NWE.
  • Recovery tanks - Rod and Ram - Sherman V
From the info that I have it appears that LdSH was the only Regiment in 5CAD to be issued Firefly tanks in Italy. Also I think that only one Regiment in 1CAB received them. It may have being the Ontario Regiment (11CAR) because it is the senior regiment of the Brigade. I know that the Three Rivers Regiment did not have Fireflies in Italy.

Kevin can you share this info with others?
