Excellent photo Clive - could I ask where it came from. I hav not seen many photos of the wading D8. The information I have is that 50 of these were available for D Day, they were used by Beach Recovery sections of REME and could wade up to 6ft. Originally they were called Porpoises untill this name was given to the armoured sledge - they never got another name

John Marchant had one these some years ago, with hull still in place and a friend of mine also had one once, but the hull had been cut down so that it could be used conventionally.
