some more footage here from Syria, a carrier comes into shot with the name
"SOUTHEND" on..... beleived to be 8th army. T4520 (bren carrier with caunter pattern) drives through followed by a scout carrier (unable to see serial number) later a close up of another scout carrier "CHELMSFORD" other carriers seen T4526........all dressed up in Caunter Pattern http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=51898

Scout carriers
Hello richard thanks for the link to british Pathe, if only the serial numbers of the Scout Carriers could be made out...
It's an interesting comparison with the three generations of carrier (Bren, Scout and Universal) travelling along in convoy and in order of descendancy. Cheers Phill

i noticed on the side of the universal carrier it has SAod then 177/5 underneath, anyone able to elaborate on this ? when i freeze up the footage on the rear i beleive the number on the carrier is T 21483 ??

here's one for you all guys....those with sky plus, go into the anytime TV there is a show advertised as world war II the apocalypse (in colour) early footage taken from the war when hitler invaded Belgium as a distraction technique there is footage of the british and french army rolling through, and a fantastic section of colour footage of a true bren carrier T2630, close up you ca see the writing the boys have grafiti'd along the side armour ! worth a look if you can guys.... just paused it to come on here there may be more yet to come
