There isnt a smily for "Takes a deep breath...." so here goes anyway
LAY/C 1 1942 (LAY = manufacturer) I have a note of C.1 A (26.25" x 17.9" x 17.5") 6-in. 26-cwt B.L. howitzer Cartridge 4-lb, 10 1/2-oz , charge and C.1 mk I A (possibly the same box as most things start off as a mk I) (26.25" x 17.9" x 17.5") 18-pr. Q.F. gun 8-oz. 12-dr (blank)C-224 FT 1944(24.7" x 15.25" x 10.125") (FT = manufacturer) 2-in. Q.F. howitzer SmokeC-636-----1944 is this number correct? Current boxes arn't numbered this high AB/1 SF 1942 (pass, I'll take the next one on sport) can you do picccies? |

Clive many many thanks for your impressive reply to my question...the boxes I have came from a train which had been parked up in a siding somewhere and just forgot about....labels in the boxes indicate they had been used by Polish troops who where being sent home to Poland by ship after the war...however the story is that the ship sank and all contents that where salvaged where stored in the old train....enlosed I hope are the pictures of same best regards malcolm
