Default Discussion

There is a difference between a heated discussion and abusive comments. Apparently Mr. HAKO-OJA does not have the ability to understand the difference.

Criticise all you like, but childish, school-yard name calling is beyond what this forum is suppose to be about.

What is the big deal about someone asking a simple question ? Do you think you are that much more important than someone else? The man asked a question that was in his interest and was hoping for a simple answer. He was obviously on this site and isn't that looking for the answer? I'm glad I've sold my carrier as I won't have to see this happening to what I thought was a very helpfull and informative forum. There is always at least one A HOLE in the bunch. My 2 cents. Whoa, hoss. What you should know is that Mr. Storey is a VERY accomplished amateur historian with MANY years of detailed research under his belt. He is also a long-time serving member of the Canadian Army who has served in some of the worst shitholes in this world. You are doing him, MLU, and this hobby, a disservice in calling him an asshole. All he was doing was suggesting Aidan utilise the web resources the rest of us do when we're looking for information. He did not insult you, nor Aidan himself. Ty, I respectfully suggest that if you have a problem with this, then the problem is yours, not Ed's.

Neither was there any cause for you to go after Clive Law ('servicepub'). We will not tolerate any type of personal attack on MLU. If you have a problem with anyone's post in future, you will address it to me personally, via PM or email.

Clear?

Well you can tell a man by his friends. Please remove my name from your forum. I now know why my father would not talk about the military.

Wow! You can dish out "A**hole" to people but you can't take a gentle rebuke? You could have simply 'manned up' by admitting that your comments were heated and that you withdrew the name calling.

Yes, you can, actually. Those of us with past military experience are rather proud of that fact. What you probably never understood is that we are a true brotherhood, your father among us. I don't know when or where he served, but he was one of us as surely as the man who stands next to us in the ranks. If he refused to talk about his time in the army there was probably a bloody good reason for it, one which you never figured out. I'm sorry for that, but I understand your frustration - sometimes only another army guy can draw out another veteran.

If you want to leave, so be it. If you want to stay, you're welcome. Just read through this thread again and think about it.

Then I can only respectfully suggest that you do your father's memory a disservice.

Take care,

Geoff

I'm a Canadian and an ex service man, but I'm probably going to get alot of flak for this but I hate Timmy's coffee, always tastes burnt to me but it could just be because it is arbica coffee not columbian.

You may not be right but I will fight to your death my right to disagree with you - or words to that effect

Timmy's has become so iconic and I am convinved it is due in large part to their successful advertising to the military community. Thnaks for bringing a lighter mood to this thread.

Your fault for allowing your children to breed... mine are under strict orders to refrain from same until after I'm planted...

Default Jiff

Over here you get more brownie points, if you put the Missus/Girlfriend before the pets.
