Thank you very much. I will have to sort out which CFR is with which Iltis. Two of the Iltis from Kingston were purchased in 2006 as salvage units. One had no engine or transmision and was striped down. That unit is down to just the frame at the moment. The other salvage unit had an engine, but had been in an accident. I have the engine, transmission and drive train from that unit. From the two, I will be making one Iltis. I have to do some body repair, which is the reason for my interest in the rotissarie for body repair. I will eventually convert one of the bodies to a tailgate Iltis. CFR No 87597 is my main Iltis, and I have that unit geared up with two antenna mounts on the rear, and a front HF antena mount. Currently it has RT-524 and PRC-25 (both Canadian issue). It runs well. http://www.megacycles.co.uk/photos/Stuart.htm One of the other Iltis is undergoing a NOS body replacement. I stripped that unit down to the frame, cleaned and re-painted the drive train. This spring I will be putting the body back on the frame.... Lots to do.... I must say I really enjoy working on the Iltis. As my other passion is radio communications, I appreciate the Iltis as a communications platform. I often use the Iltis for portable radio comms for public service events in the Ottawa region. http://www.ovmrc.on.ca/Rambler/Ram2007-06.pdf Cheers! Stuart

Thought that I would ask this question here.
I did do the access to information request for my Iltis and did receive a reply. But apart from dates when my Iltis was assigned, mainly 55 Med out of Quebec City. There are no real information to any repairs or work done to it. I am curious is there a way to get more details on any repair work that was done to it? It seems that it was repaired, especially in the rear quarter. It could have been done post release but I suspect it was done before release because of the quality of the work. If it helps here is my CFR B102-03-86-88113 Any help would be appreciated Thx |
