Yes it does look like it was built that way. The RAAF had some bodies unique to them. They used medium and long wheelbase specialised fire tenders so quite likely there was a short wheelbase one too.
It's an F15A and it has an interesting feature. This is the first F15A I've seen with canvas doors. All other late production ones I've seen so far have the standard steel doors, even though the prototype for canvas doors was based on a F15. Live and learn! Which truck belongs to which ARN?
