Default Where oh where in Ontario....?

Hi Rob

We could go on with a long list of questions of what has been or not been done.......

There are only three things that makes it run..... gas, spark and air.... in proper mixture and at the right time.

You seem to indicate that some improvements were noticed after rebuilding the carburator....... could have been a low fuel or lean condition...... but if you are saying that it misfires/backfires under load....such as accelerating in 2nd and more in 3rd and fourth it may a timing issue.....but would not discount lack of fuel being pumped in the engine.

what engine size do you have..? was a compression test done..? if a timing check is done and results are erratic it could be a timing chain problem...

I believe you have a non water proof dizzy and should have a vacuum advance..... is it working properly..?

Have you tried blowing your fuel line clean from back of tank to engine..?

Depending on your geo-location you may be able to track down an old flat head mechanics...... Farm tractor shops such as M-F used Chrysler flat head on farm equipment......

...or drive it to the barn......
