hello,thanks for the replies. i just got a call from my buddy mechanic,he says she is running fine now. he will explain in more detail to me what was wrong.it was a series of problems, but lastly the coil was not functioning properly. timing was checked before,compression was done and two cylinders were way below proper compression.these problems were fixed,and the fuel pump was tested confirming that the carb was getting fuel.i will get more info,but it seems to be ok now.....knock wood. the hour long drive from his place to mine ought to be a good test drive.
