Default ICCS M151s

Looking for something to do with my Academy M151 and found this site: Canadian M151s

It has some photos of the ICCS Jeeps used by Canada in Vietnam. It says that the colours were OD and Yellow, however, the colour photo looks Black to me.

Given that colour film can come out any which way, what is the general opinion of the colours of these vehicles? Black or OD?

Cheers!

Dana

Dana,

I wrote that the base colour was olive drab, and markings consisted of:
• Canadian Maple Leafs on windscreen;
• "ICCS" in white on front bumper (also spotted: in black on yellow square);
• "ICCS" in black on white square with yellow edges on left- and right-hand sill;
• hood is painted yellow (possibly with "ICCS" on top?).

Check with Ed Storey, I think he will confirm these jeeps were olive drab. If you're looking for a different kind of colour, try a M151 in white UN livery!

Regards,
Hanno

My Geocities.com site has been taken down, but a copy was archived here http://web.archive.org/web/200910261...51/m151cdn.htm and http://www.oocities.com/fordm151/m151cdn.htm

As it was last updated 5 years ago, it is outdated but it might still prove an interesting read for some people.

HTH,
Hanno
