Default C8 ready for final paint job...

Thanks to David DeWeese for a couple of his well made wheel adapters . I copied them for my rear end. Still missing a couple of rims, I am still looking hard. Cheers for now, Rob

Default A little off topic here...

I flew up to Churchill Manitoba for a day trip with my first cousin Captain, who is flying tourists into Churchill for the polar bear season. I sat in the jump seat up front and watched a couple of professional 25000 hr pilots bring in a prop job in low pressure 29.55, winds 35 gusting to 50 kts, rain, visibility 2 miles, base clouds 900 ft... Very cool. Went for a quick dirve to see the Black Brant rocket site, the remains of the Dew Line site, saw 2 polar bears being airlifted out of bear jail, and bumped into two more just a couple miles out of town. These bears are the size of small elephants! People carry high powered rifles here. Bad pics, Cheers Rob

Default Spare tire back left wireless box question?

How did the spare mount onto the back left lidded box. I see 3 holes in the side. There is a slight indent on the floor of my box in this location. Looking for all kind of detail on the guts of this box/19 set trays, chorehore table and outside shelf, battery locations etc...Cheers Rob

Default A little progress by the seat of our pants!!!

Taking a close look at existing welds and a really faint pic in the Profiles/Gregg book of this wireless box, we are kinda stumbling here. See pics of some back box work, orginal bows, and side curtain Cab 11/12.. Any drawings out there??? Cheers Rob

Rob..
I think what you are looking for is in the bodies manual which gives quite a good bit of detail on the Wireless body and bows and canvas and box..Grant Bowker has it for sale as a repo reprint..Here is the item.

#2: 150 pages Bodies Part List Illustrated, for CMP vehicles, G.S. (Wood and Steel), F.A.T. W-35 Wrecker, Water Tanker, Etc., 34 plates, issued by Dept. of Munitions & Supply, Canada. Oct. '41.

That manual has the 1A1 and not the 1B1 like Rob needs. The only pics I have I posted on my 8 cwt pics thread. The one of my uncle is the only period pic of a 1B1 with the canvas in place that I've come across.
