This photo is well known (PA-133136) and is even on line on the Library and Archives Canada web site.

Note that at Calais the Canadians also caught the shortest General in the German Army.

Indeed; the photo was featured before on MLU, I thought it was nice to read to story of one of the two guys in the picture.

I wonder if any of the current German Veteran's organizations could trace the name and fate of their soldier? It would make an interesting completion to this story.
