| M38A1CDN2 Front Bumper Length

Wondering if anyone knows exactly how long an M38A1CDN2 front bumper is supposed to be? Mine appears to have a US or after-market bumper, and I would like to get it cut down to the proper size. If anyone has some bumper "close-up" photos, that would also be helpful. Mike

Hi Mike, Saw this M38A1 CDN2 parked in front of the 12Th Service battlion in Richmond this year and snapped a few photos. You can get an idea for what you need, but sorry I don't have the measurments. Enjoy Paul |

Mike, your correct I was mistaken I just remembered taking these photo's and when I saw your post I thought of this vehicle. My M38A1 1953 has the short bumper 54 1/4 long and I think you need the longer version approx 10 in longer, but may want to check as I was wrong before. Well the pictures looked good anyway.... Hi Mike: I've got a 67 CDN2 sitting in the driveway. If you want, send me your email address and I'll send you pictures and measurements. My email address is...rob.mor@shaw.ca. I WOULD put it on the forum but I am somewhat a "putz" when it comes to that. Apologies to Geoff! Regards....Robert

| bumper measurement

Hello My 1967 M38A1 has the longer bumper on it, which was the 1953 version. It could have been a replacement for the original by DND or they used old stock when assembling it. Personally i do not worry about it as it was that way when i bought it from DND. Eric

| correction

Hello I took a look at my M38A1 CDN 2 . I made a mistake yesterday, It has the shorter earlier bumper on it.( Not the longer one) The CDN 2 and 3's as per the photos came with the longer bumpers. Thanks Eric

OK, the 67 and 70 (and 71) CFRs would be 54" long. With minor exceptions, the CDN2 and 3's are alike. The 53 CFRs would be the 46" lengths.
