I'd say the white strap is natural rubber. yes the jack strap could be missing the end. I dont know why they have a choice of holes because in practice some would not reach.
TL12633 yes I have new ones, which I dont think will fit through the holes in the steel brackets. The long thin one is original. and if I was making them I would go with the original. So what do you make of TL13801?

Absolutly no idea on the TL13801. Could it be an Aussi only strap?
As for the jack strap, Id still be interested in the dimensions of it? Thanks again for posting up what info you have.

Jordan The strap has a TL number. The Aust pattern Carriers dont use TL numbers. Don't be confused by the fact that the Army stores used Aust pattern carrier labelled tags.
The strap could be from a Bren as opposed to a Universal, or it maybe from a Flame thower carrier. I will come back to you on the jack strap.

Here's the jack strap. L,W, T= length, width, thickness. L&R is leather and rubber. There is a single screw hole at the connecting end.

TL13801 is listed in the British parts book, external stowage section, Mortar baseplate housing assembly, strap, securing. Only listed as used on 3 inch mortar (all types)
Page 56 of Nigels second book has it listed on the P6 illustration but no TL numbers mentioned, part 34 Thanks to Lynn for giving me the kick up the a*** to look for it. Ben |

Better late than never, here is the measurements for the CTL12117. It is a rubber strap that is 18" long by 1-3/4 wide. There are two holes on the fixed end which correspond to the screws and retainer which hold it in place. On the far end are four 3/8 holes. The first of these is located 4-3/8 from the end of the strap. The next 3 holes are each 1-1/2 further up the strap. The end of the strap is squared off, not pointed, rounded or anything like that. Also, besides the part number being stenciled on the strap, it is also cast into the rubber. I'll snap a photo next time I am in the shop so that all this makes sense.
