For Chevrolet, the same pattern of below frame being the early version and between the frame rails being later is true.
The below frame style was kept on Chevrolets for the house type wireless body C15A (for clearance to the entry steps) and the water tank C15A (to keep clearance for the water distribution pipes and valves).
