Default While you're there....

Can you check if any of those Chevs have those bloody cast brake shoes Andrew??

Might be be easier to spot a wild pig flying.......

If you hear a Winjeel flying over Ganmain tomorrow I'll probably be in it heading for Temora.

Is there any markings on the outside of the drum or axle that identify which type it is that you want ?
Hopefully he will find tank i am looking for so will get back out there then

Default That would be VERY helpful

I'll keep and eye out Keefy

I was only kidding Andrew but of course if you are going back I'd be grateful if you could have a sticky beak.

I cant say I know of any special marks Andrew. A lot of the Chev guys I spoke to a Corowa call it a Timken axle.

On the backing plate this brake shoe set up is like a Ford Blitz with Cams at the bottom and also further up the backing plate for minor and major shoe adjustments. So the adjusters (where you might put a socket) are visible from the outside.

The Fargo is a 1939 model. I'd love to know if it saw military service?

Thanks Andrew , I have a Early 50`s Commer Bantam that has the same cab as the Qx series which were made from 48 to early 60`s and i need a replacement cab or one that can supply a decent lower half for the rebuild .

I suppose I can't talk! If another FGT were to come across my path I think I'd be obliged to have it too.
The C8 (or its sister the F8) is a particularly interesting version - I'd love to have of of either variety too. Come to think of it, why not one of both, particularly the lovely British bodied passenger version.

Brought the C8 transporter home today
ARN RAAF 208379
And as a pleasant surprise the motor isnt stuck as first feared .got home ,got a crank and it turned over
Found that starter gear was still engaged causing it to appear seized
