You know ,Colin ,if it wernt for hot rodders a lot of these cars wouldnt be here,a sad but true fact. How many were rescued from going to the dump to be rodded. I like to see them original,or near as possible to original, but it is good to see these old girls!. I have done rods and restorations over the years,so you might say i have a foot in both camps, but i lean mainly toward green machines now. Thanks for the photos Colin.

| Hot Rod Shows Are Great

Hi Colin Thanks for sharing photos, which hot rod is yours? I love going to hot rod and cruise nights with my CMPs the people really get a kick out the CMPs and I enjoy looking at their work. Guess it just means a Gear Head is a Gear Head no matter if is chrome or OD. Cheers Phil

Unfortunately Phil, I don't have a hot rod but that does'nt mean I would'nt want one. These guys spend more time cleaning their machines then I do building a green one. They are going to have regular meetings here so it will get bigger each time. There was a few left hand drive ones there and I was amazed at the air ride ones. Ken, even if they don't make these cars original, they are still preserving the basic shape and also style. Colin. |

Hi Colin, yes i agree with you about the car bodies. The other thing that i have noticed over the years is that hot rodders seem to have the money, where the vintage car types have champagne tastes on a beer budget!! Thats me in the last category hahaha!

| Hot rod runs

Hey Colin, It must be the thing to do, we had a local hot rod car club visit our family farm to look in the shed just before Christmas. My brother has set up a small museum with family cars and trucks.

| Rods

Colin, Did you crank up the band for a bit of rock and roll to go with the hot rods? I have a 32 ford hi boy hot rod in my shed which I am building for a mate of mine. When he saw the Marmon Herrington as I was building it, with it's roadster cab, his one comment was "rod it!". Same comment when he saw the roadster cab on my 39 Ford 1 ton ute, "rod it!". |
