Hi Rich and all.
Re urethanes,we are involved in the shoe/boot trade, urethane used as footwear sole making material has a limited life span, like 6/7 years before it starts to crumble and break down(hydrolises(?)) ,There are some life extending additives available now maybe out to 12-14 years......So ask around of the companies offering retiring about how long the material can be expected to last .

Point 2 .In the shoe trade when the chemicals mix they give off a highly Toxic substance and at that point they must be handled with extreme care .The mixing and storage point are in a special sealed room to protect workers. The stuff is carcenogenous. We have heard of a service engineer dying of Cancer from limited exposure to the material.

So please if you plan to do this at home do lots of research on the material we want you all to live to a ripe old age ,and especially keep your family away if you insist on pressing on with home mixing.

Best Regards,
Bruce.
