Thanks Frank for clarification.
So it seems then that the CDN jeeps had all sorts of mods dependant upon what time they were in service and with which ever unit. I will be happy to present mine as it is.

Yep The best way is to leave it the way it was last used by the Can. Forces and...it's a lot cheaper to keep it that way!

I will agree on the overlap. I have seen the early M38 brakes on a Cdn2 (different shoes) and one of the first M38A1CND2s I bought had the convoy lamp installed with the switch on the dash.
