Very eventful couple of days
Discovered just how wet it is to the south of me. Left 5:30am Friday morning for a normal 10 hour trip and ended up getting back at 9:30 pm thanks to a few diversions
But well worth the effort for the goodies I got on the way home
Many thanks again Ashley
Next purchase will have to be a forklift that works

Finally after almost 4 years I now have enough 13 inch rims for the 2 C8's
2 of these will require a bit of repair

Flicking through the net last night looking for tyres and rims and came across a KVE newsletter from 2010.
It appears our KVE members seriously dropped the ball for the C8, F8 and artillery owners
In the newsletter for sale section there was 5 sandblasted and primed rims in good nick and another 2 rims with useable sandgrip tyres .....

Rims & Tyres </u>
Five (5) sand blasted & primed 900 x 13 rims, dated:
1941 x 2 Kelsey (Canadian)
1942 x 2 Kelsey (Canadian)
One unmarked but WW2
One pair 900 x 13 Rims with useable Olympic sand grip tyres

I contacted the postee just on the off chance he still had them. He said he had no interest expressed for them so he sent them to the tip What a loss

Andrew,

Good job on finding the C8 rims! I am certainly looking forward to the resto of your Cab 12 C8.

Did you know that BKT tyres has taken over de Olympic 9.00x13 moulds? see, the 9.00x13 tyre thread.

Good to know
Thanks Alex
Resto has been a drawn out process thus far
The problem we seem to have in Australia is that there is very few importers of certain tyres.
I have been looking for a while now and doing the ring around in Australia
I was looking at MRF for a bit but they were only implement rated tyres (although C8 speed would not be an issue)
As of Monday i have found a dealer that has another brand of tyre in a sand grip pattern in 900 X 13 now (name escapes me at the moment) which are road rated as well.
Not the cheapest at $280 compared to the MRF that were $180 a piece plus tubes and still looking for rust rings .
Now just have to save the pennies and get a couple of sets. Hopefully this importer wont stop importing these in the mean time

Thanks Ryan
Very slow progress but at least some i suppose

Robert . Would feel a bit of a hijacker/bludger if I were to subscribe and not join organisations such as KVE and the like. At present would not have anything to offer a club if I joined

Big thanks to Robert Williams for supply of the necessary gearbox housing components

Attended the Bathurst 1000 2012 today
Close racing with Holden taking the day by the narrowest of margins over the Ford Less than a car length !!!
Was hoping Craig Lowndes might get a 6th win in the 888
Big crowd for the 50th anniversary race

Had a welcome visitor yesterday and he even came bearing gifts
Thanks Euan
The GT jigsaw puzzle has arrived. What a terrible thing to do to a GT of any description Then I felt worse when I had to skin it this arvo. So has gone from a soft skin to a no-skin
Tacked it together to get better idea of what parts require replacement. Will have to replace some of the frame due to excessive rust. So if anyone has some GT bits or steel to suit please let me know

Default GT bits

Agreed, a terrible thing to do to a GT indeed! At least it's a pretty sure thing the perpetrator is no longer with us.

Glad to see the bits have arrived safely due to some superhuman efforts by Euan, and very impressed to see your efforts in hopping into the task with such gusto!

Unfortunately not all over .Very hot and dry up here at the moment
Greenish is just that little spot where it is sitting as it is the overflow for the pool filter and air conditioner downpipe

Default Coonabarabran fires 2013

I have been in the area helping restore power to fire affected areas . Over 40 houses and well over 50 larger sheds lost so far with 2 fires still burning. Over 40000 hectares burnt. On Sunday the fire front was travelling up to 250metres per minute forced by 45+ deg ambient temps and 80kmh wind. The miraculous thing is no one has been killed. Stock and wildlife have not faired well though
