thanks again !!
Hi Pat,

You should get a manual - Grant Bowker (on this forum) can fix you up. Folks are very helpful here, but to really get ahead on repairs and restorations, nothing beats having "the" reference book on hand. In any case, keep on trucking!

Default See if this helps.....

Hi Pat

I will attach a few pics that might help......

The first shows quite well where the emergency cable fits in...... I did not installed them on my truck as I have the emergency brake drum installed on my 2 speed T case. I later made and installed a small sheet metal cover on the hole for the cable.

E brake cables are available brand new from Mac Auto in NY state ... remember the brake system on the Chev CMP is all Ford parts...

THe E brake handle bolts on the side of the original tranny.......

If you need more info....... just ask.....

One suggestion ..... you may want to post on the "restoration section" next time to make sure you are seen...

I have a few old CMP trannies.....condition unknown.....

Default Some civilian ones turned up on E-pay

Hi

Some turned up on e-bay a while ago, which are civilian, they were too long but might be material to rework. Try an e-pay search on the following phrase 194* Chevrolet brake cable

Cheers Phil
