Hi Chris,

I would advise you to first repair the hull and then have it shotblasted. This way the welded in bits have the same finish and you will not get rust on the hull while you are repairing it.

Do you already have a rear axle? You might want to ask this company here: http://www.showroom.milweb.net/produ...3&item_id=3716 The name of the company is Groenewoud and they are located real close to me. If you want I can transport an axle and/or tracks to the UK for you. I recently aquired a Daimler Armoured Car I will be collecting early next year. Also bringing an UC axle for Kevin Powles then.

Cheers,

hi Chris and welcome to the T16 owners club!! I had not been on the forum for a while so had missed your post. I wish you luck and good fortune with the restoration and of course any advice you may need feel free to ask me as I have just been through the same exercise myself, although mine was probably a bit more complete it was pretty rusty in the hull. I dont know how to link my restoration story, but here goes http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...eferrerid=6566

I look forward to following your progress.

Default Rear axle

Hi,
I do have a very good rear axle and hopefully enough track.

Have cut off all the Swiss bits now, just need to work out what Brit bits need welding back on.

I need lots of bits for the carrier, but some of the big bits include;

2x wheels
Fuel tanks
Radiator
Oil coolers

Regards Chris

Your photo 014 shows the gunner side of the vehicle and it still has the Swiss wireless mount. Don't know what type they had postwar but that mount won't be good for anything to you and needs to go in the trash with the other Swiss parts you cut off.

You can see a partial list of things the Swiss removed from the carriers after they got the from the British on my vehicle restoration thread:

http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9136

What type wheels do you need? There were straight spoke early on, two types of curved spoked wheels and then the solid disc pattern.

Chris,
I have a partial carrier that I am willing to part out. It currently has the rear armor (uncut). It has the half moon shaped armor and uncut lower rear.
Please Pm me if you are interested if purchasing the rear armor. I could cut the entire back end of the carrier off if you want.
Thanks,
Bren
PS Your new carrier use to belong to me several owners ago. I spray painted the TD number on the side to peserve it for the new owner.

Brennon,

Do you still have the front armor for a T16? One of ours had a big section cut out, to include the gun port and hatch.

No,
The partial carrier that I have only has the lower.
It was an old scat from seco.
They cut all the upper armor off.
Sorry I can't help you.
All lower armor is still available.
