Default Door hinge

Holy Crap! You just described the hinge I found, perfectly!
driver upper hinge.jpg
It was on my donor truck. Looks like a brazing job, this weld. I know it holds together though. Thought about cleaning the weld back neat, but wanted you to see it 'au naturalle' first.

The irony is that I have several passenger-side hinges, upper and lower, but this is my only driver-side upper besides one in use. I have the lower one also. Maybe you can do better, but you are welcome to have it/them, just in case! N/C of course.

If you check my thread on page 13 here: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...=15575&page=13 , where I discover reasons for doors binding and damaging paint, you will see that I found a number of places that put a load on the hinges and doors before doors are completely closed. Years of repeated opening and closing, fatigues the metal of door and hinge alike. Find the problem areas on your truck......and fix em, then you won't get the problem again. I had to make shims for the hinges, grind some of the hinge body away, shim the windscreen support panel inwards, and finally.....make sure replacement bolts in hinges have heads NO HIGHER than originals. Pig of a job, hate to tell ya!
