I don't think you even have to disconnect the shafts, since the transfer case and transmission are the same gearbox, and the t-case will splash enough oil.
Fly to Edmonton, rent a pick up with unlimited mileage, and you are good to go.

Nothing wrong with A Frame towing I have been towing my 1942 MB Jeep up to 1500 Kilometres without a hitch and towing is so easy you have to keep checking the mirrors to see if she is still there. I have installed free wheeling hubs and remove the rear axles for long trips and its a breeze. But to far to tow to Australia.
