I'll have to add that neat bit of triva to my files! For what it's worth, 'British Tanks in Normandy' (Ludovic Fortin) suggests D sqn markings were in white but I think that it was more of a suggestion than a rule at this stage of events.

Dave,
I got really lucky then as I purchased RCD 1939-1945 and the Pictoral History direct from RCD's kitshop. http://www.rcdkitshop.com/index.php?...emart&Itemid=1 I notice the Pictoral History is no longer listed, but as I recall it was under $20. I picked up both the History and the Pictoral history for under $50 (shipping was as much as the price of one book). Both books are great, lots of good photos and info on Royal Canadian Dragoons. |

That sound you hear is me slapping my forehead as a punishment for my own stupidity. I have ordered books from other Cdn kitshops in the past but it never dawned on me to check out the RCD one. Guess I cannot trust AddALL for everything! Do you have any further info on the pictorial history, i.e ISBN, author, etc. I am primarily a modeller so a picture (to me) really is worth a thousand words although I did just order their available history.
Cheers, (building my Canadian library one book at a time) Dave |

Dave,
BTW my copy is soft cover. The book is published by the Guild of the RCD and printed in Canada by Annex Printing 300 Argyle Ave Delhi ON N4B 2Y1 (this is printed on the inside title page) Copies can be ordered from: The Royal Canadian Dragoons Worthington Barracks CFB Petawawa PO Box 9999 Station Main Petawawa ON K8H 2X3 www.renc.igs.net/~dragoons ISBN 0-9691281-1-8 It does have great modelling reference photos; Dingos, Staghounds, Daimlers Halftracks... I really like the training photo from the Volturno area as it has Staghounds, Heavy Halftracks, you can make out Dingos in the forward position of the photo and it even has White armoured trucks. |

so far away. Of course it's long OOP and copies start @ $50.00. AFAIK it's in softcover only. Unfortunately the links are long since dead, last updated in 2006. Still, I'm head 'n shoulders above where I was a few hours ago. At least I know what to look for. Many thanks again for the leads!
Cheers, Dave |
