Info through a friend of a relative of mine. I had the email filed in the proverbial safe place, ie next to Elvis' unlisted phone number and my unredeemed 2005 multimillion dollar winning lottery ticket.

I THINK these are the same vehicle and the one the fellow had beside the highway. Emphasis on the speculation.
That yellow HUP was owned, and may still be owned by Micky Zwack...Micky's Daughter,I think her name was Michelle, was a city policewoman in Prince Albert back about '86-'88+++..it was painted yellow with black tiger stripes possibly..Michell used to drive it around as her daily driver.I only met her once or twice but she was very pretty and had a HUP and carried a gun..and If you messed around with her she would put you in jail or shoot you..or Micky would...
anyway I left P.A.in the summer of '88 and Michelle was still a cop and driving her HUP but don't know what happened after that..
I believe this is the same one..Maybe some one could correct me or the story..
But Micky was from the Gronlid-Melfort area so the "Mike" fits..
Micky Zwack..got tons of CMPs , carriers ..and he know what they are worth.

There are two M Zwack's is Sask. both in Prince Albert look them up on 411 locate and one will be Micky or will know him..
I don't want to post phone numbers or addresses here.

I have known Mickey for years, although we have not talked in a while. I have always known Mickey as being from Prince Albert. He is retired military, a farmer and has a job at the paper/pulp plant up there. Mickey is really one of the good guys in the hobby, but does not use the internet much so we do not see him on this site. I'll have to ask him if there is a connection between him and this vehicle, but at this time I don't think so.

I am busy this weekend, do most likely I'll get the truck some next week. Photos to follow.

I just checked my copy of the 1989 issue of INFOX by Peter Ford. Peter knew Mickey well, and this HUP does not show up in the INFOEX record. Peter did find a complete 1C11 HUP from the same British Contract as mine in the Melfort area in the late 1980's but the owner was not too friendly and Peter was unable to get a close look at it. He also found the train wreck HUP and got parts from it. The front end was a complete right off. Everything gone from the seats forward.

That was Mike Heiberg who owned the HUP when it was in Gronlid. He ran the seed cleaning plant in town. Most of those CMPs ended up at his brother Ken's east of Regina and I ended up with several of them.

Well I got the HUP home about an hour ago, along with a dozen or so boxes of parts...some NOS and some take-off. Photos will have to wait until at least tomorrow night I am afraid.

Default Photos Now Included

As promised, here are some photos of the HUP before coming off the trailer. It leaked out a bunch of it's transfer case oil (it is a chev after all...it has to leak), and it's currently stuck in gear, but those are minor problems. As you can see in some of the photos, some tidying up of the body will still need to be done, but overall Mark has done a good job cleaning it up. All new glass and channels, wiring harnesses, brakes....just needs some TLC and assembly.

The 5/4 ton was used to pull it down, and bring it into the quonset for the winter. What is not shown are the dozen or so boxes of parts, some used and some NOS. Goodies like NOS overflow tank, muffler, lights, and mirrors, and plenty more. The truck is currently on ferret tires, but these will soon be exchanged for a set of the STA 10:50X16 that I have saved up in the shed. I didn't even have a project for them...I just bought them cause I knew someday........
In fact, I have been hoarding an original HUP parts manual for the last 31 years, also because I knew one day I would have one of these. Then again, I have been hoarding dozens if not hundreds of manuals.....I won't live long enough to have them all. But I really did want a HUP.
