Thanks everyone for your replies
 I had a feeling the axle may have been off the limber but wasn't sure. Years ago, I had seen a limber sitting on blocks on a farm in Yorkrakine with the wheels missing. I was told that the limbers were popular with farmers as the wheels and axles were of use to them. I can now see why  The hay cart belongs to a friend so the wheels and axles are safe from the scrappies

got a spare centre section for a 25 if someone is desperate, bloody heavy thing to move.
