Default P-60 ammo box...

holds 4 AP shots for the 25 pdr. and the box fits into cradles on the back step/entrance on the FAT . See pics of this in the P-60 thread here on MLU. Cheers Rob

Obviously a scaling issue on my behalf... didnt think it looked deep enough for 4 x 25pdr rounds... used to have some P60 boxes with all the metal inserts - think they are all sold now.

Rob
Derk would know better, but I recall seeing a lot of the 25 pounder boxes, many in excellent condition, at Ribtor's in Calgary. Not sure if they were the P60, but many still had the dividers, along with packing slips etc.

Default 25 pdr ammo boxes

P-60 ammo boxes carried four cardboard tubes holding AP Rounds , the P-59 contained a metal shell clamp for holding four HE,Smoke ,Burst Rounds etc.

Good info, then I am sure the ones I saw at Ribtor's were the P59 then, as they had metal cradles for the rounds.

Rob,

The basket holds two canvass mop bags, attached is a pic of my gun with the bags in place. I have some of these (somewhere) if you need a couple.

That sight assembly looks familiar, now in its rightful place !

Do you have the steel direct fire case ? these are usually tricky to find these days.
Looking Great

Default Couple of parts needed

Evening Gentlemen! I have spent the day labouring on my 17 Pounders braking system in prep for a trip to Arnhem in September. Nearly there with the brakes now I have fathomed the US Warner electric system and that exposed metal on the pads is normal and does not mean that they are worn out! Having been pushed down a long hill last year in the Portee by the gun, even with the hand brakes pulled on I have realised that working brakes are a must for this trip.

I am looking for a few small parts to complete my gun. Does anyone have the traverse wheel firing pad and the linkage that slides on the traverse wheel shaft to fire the gun? I have a spare sight base if anyone needs one, It has the pad but the leather cover needs repair. Rgds. Tobin.
