Right hand single station has been out for a week detailed painted and back in as of today . There are two bolts that bolt the support to the engine rails which are in ! But I notice there are two holes just inside the backing plate on the floor where the support comes through the hull sides I can't find any info in the books on these two should these have bolts as well if so should the nuts be on the inside and bolts up through the hull floor ? Dale, those 2 bolts come up from underneath and are threaded into the suspension station arm. They cannot have nuts on them as that would interfere with the brake rod.
If the suspension station arm threads are damage, you can: try and tidy up the threads with a thread tap, leave the bolts out, or heli-coil the threads.

The two threaded holes for the grease nipples on the center hub , one has a small hole at the end of the thread , the other has a bigger hole , which one is for the nipple and which one for the pressure value as I did not take notice when I pull them out . Dale

Dale, the grease nipple is on the outside of the wheel. The breather valve is on the inside. A tiny bit of grease on the ball part of the grease nipple before you paint it, and you can easily wipe it clean after. The grease nipple sits a an easy access angle. in the hub, I didn't know the holes were different so cant help.

Hi Lynn the threads for the breather and nipple are on the outside of the hub one spoke apart , but when you look inside the hub , with bearing out , one un threaded hole is about 4mm the other about 8mm just wondering if the bigger one is for the grease and the smaller for air .. Dale

G'day Dale, yep your seals look spot on and mine are doing a good job 3years on. With the bearings I replaced 5 and reused the rest. I put the best of them into the 4 displacement wheels due to the side load when steering. I think small pits in the bearings will be ok well lubed, my worst had probly had a good mm of side play at the centre and are in the rear road wheels. You would have to put the seal carriers on the end of a piece of heavy pipe close to the same OD then a smaller piece on the inside of it and don't be shy with the hammer.
Good job with the project. Ric

Can someone tell me the length of the 5/16 UNF threaded rod that holds the clamps on the side of the carrier plus the ones on the rear plate are they different sizes do they all have lock nuts up against the threaded blocks that are weld to the hull ? I know they have wing nuts . Dale

I picked up a real nice track winch today this is my first good find , very nice feeling to get this peace . It could be NOS as No bad rust and it has that Dark grease on the nuts , other wise it's been sitting dry in a shed for years . Dale

Dale, with regard to the studs, I think they are all the same except there is one smaller one. I think they all have lock nuts (someone will correct me if I am wrong) and the all have a clip in a hole in the end, to stop the wing nut falling off. I would guess length at 2 inches.
Your track jack is nice. It is only missing its pin and knurled nut. Your jack bracket is different from the common one. Does yours belong to a specific carrier makers production, or is it an early/late thing?

You might find that when you fit your track strainer in the proper bracket the bent arms may not locate in their location properly.
The threaded rod for the tool clamps in the book say 3/4 inch long, I have samples of NOS ones that are 62mm long, see pictures, and yes the one down on the back bulkhead R/H corner is 3/16 dia. , all others 5/16 unf. Cheers

Hi Dale , never seen this one before, have other examples of where the sides have been modified to take a different jack of the era, and of course the standard jack, but not this one.

Started working on the floor plate this week . Lots more work then I thought ! Got all the bits sorted out and sprayed Kharki green today . Tomorrow I will bolt it all together . Also , followed Darrin's lead and welded all new fastening countersink bolts to the floor plate , and ground flush as to make it easier to adjust later on . Dale
