I think Hanno is onto it, the sunshine roof and sun compass would indicate Aust assembled truck.

Hello All,
The design of the trailer is pretty advanced and somewhat aerodynamic for its time of manufacture. Did the dental trailers have a distinct nomenclature that I could look up in the Australian War Memorial Archives search? Would there be any blue prints available and who would have been the manufacturer? Oh yes and I like the Chevy Short Wheel Base 4WD (C15A ?) in the photograph too. I am mostly interested in MCPs at the moment so I apologise for my ignorance towards CMPs. Would the dental unit be mostly towed by CMP's or were towed by anything such as an MCP as long as it was strong enough to move it around? Kind Regards Lionel

somethings you don't see every day:
Jeep Aust No.3 trailer: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JEEP-EX-M...item4d1d7fa8d3 Bofors 37mm trailer base ( don't really understand this one, 37mm? Is this an AT gun mount? But we used 2pdrs): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bofors-37...item4d1d7f5d82

Hi Ryan,
Just a little correction mate, that jeep trailer is actually a number 3, but almost as rare as the number 2 (ok, well slightly) in that it is an IHC made trailer- not many made to start off with- this one looks to be 324? I think there are only 4 surviving ones registered in the online jeep trailer database I look after. There was an IHC trailer in the uralla/guyra ? (one of those 2 places) military museum auction recently, but it was well modified when compared to this one. I can see how the data plate looks abit like a 2, not a 3 being out of focus. Either way, she's a trailer very worthy of restoration and I hope it doesn't get butchered, but restored for what it is. Aussie trailers are well under appreciated in my opinion when you consider that there were only over several thousand made in the 4 (5) types (I guess a rough number is around 6000 odd produced across 5 models/types) compared to the 60,000+ US made ones! Cheers, Ian.

Hi Ian,
I'm looking at that photo and thinking is he right, no it's a number 2. Took me a little to see it did actually say number 3. It's kinda like a magic eye picture. I hate those things. Listing corrected.
