Default handle cover

I can't get my picture to stick .but here is how to make the cover .Very simple .Take a pipe connector 1.5" Diameter .Get a 1" bolt and machine off the top of the head about 1/8" deep to fit in the connector . Then machine the bolt end so as to attach the chain on it . Stick it in the pipe connector and spot weld it then clean up the weld so it is smooth .I can send you detail pictures of this if you have Email . George

John and others.
As rough as it looks the details are there, if you want an accurate one.
John, i wouldn't mind getting one if you're planning a run of them. I'd like one without the hex machined onto it. Just plain round. I will be at W&P.

The Rotherham fitting is nothing to do with it.

Default Thanks Lynn.

Thanks for the details lynn. Just a couple of questions, is the thread 7 threads per inch? i guess it'll be a BSF form, so if it is 7tpi then it looks like 1 3/4 bsf thread. Is the cap made of steel or brass?

Will see what i can do before war and peace. I just need to find something to gauge the threads.

I have been told there is an hydraulic endcap that looks very similar.

John.

John, I think there is a total of 7 threads. It is cast steel. (to speed up manufacture and reduce material consumption, I guess)

Default Maybe not

I'll have a look at the cover on my carrier, should be able to workout the tpi, but it has had a few knocks over the years so is shaped like an egg!

Many are like that John, with not so many having the caps.
