Then possibly Churchill?
Clive,
I have a Churchill Mk V & VI service instruction book, which states, in the gun mounting section: 'The mounting, 6pdr/75mm and BESA MG, No.1 and No.2 Mk.1, either of which can be fitted to the Churchill VI ....' So evidently there was a No.1 Mk.1 and a No.2 Mk.1 mounting. Maybe that provides a clue? I have manuals for the Churchill V, VI and VII, but not the Mk.III. Mike
