Interesting that this one, a 1940 model does not have a fold out windscreen. The 39 I am restoring and the 1941 model I have both have fold out screens on raodster cabs. On this one I cant find evidence that it has been modified. The back on this one has been cut down and widened to make a more useful farm tray.

You will find that the fixed screen is original on the 1940 models . I tried to buy one of those 1940 roadster utes from near Junee many years ago, it had the fixed screen same as yours does.

An excellent 'barn find'.
A pity they weren't in the habit of getting out to open the gate. David

This is the 1940 battery staff roadster ute I was chasing back in 1987 . The owner would not part with it.
Sadly, the elderly owner left it outside and over the years it literally fell to bits . I heard after he died , a clearance sale was held and it sold for just over 3K $ Interesting AWM pic , in the snow in Syria or Lebanon ? The last pic may be a scene in Palestine.

Hi
No I don't know where it is now. I last laid eyes on it in 1998 and it had really gone downhill , the ute sides were falling off and rust was affecting the cab . Still, it would be a great project . He also had other Fords and some very original tidy CMP's . He sold bits and pieces when he felt like it , but he was rather stubborn . I did buy this from him , a 1941 military 01D 3/4 ton Ford with the 16" car type wheels - wider for the 7.50 tyres . The roof hatch was cut out and a patch welded in , converted into a tow truck .

Glassons is a Wagga institution, even today. Good to see one of their older vehicles still in existence.
I live in Junee, and I keep hearing about interesting military vehicles that were around Junee in relatively recent times. I've heard of the two Blitz trucks that went into the interesting one seen at Corowa this year, along with another one that's apparently still in original paint with its tac plates intact, which may still be in the area. I've also heard that there were several military utes which are now gone to better homes. Good thing that nobody had any love for the old Inter which sat by the main road for years, and which is glacially being returned to operation as I get the chance! I'm guessing that Ganmain is now the Riverina centre for WW2 military vehicles! And a good thing too.
