Radio tray mounting holes, driver's side only. The reinforcement brackets do exist for radio gear under both fenders however.

Seems odd, that radio would have been situated on the driver's side, since the power point and add-on spare tire antenna kit are on the passenger side.

BTW, looks like your jeep was the 215th produced on a contract run of 596.

Well Jon, all I have is the evidence in front of me.
Yes, the power is on the RH side but the cable cover is in place to route the cable across the rear floor to the driver side.
I did not note any extra holes on the pass side fender.
Maybe not so odd as the original axe bracket is there and would have been removed for a radio tray.
Also, the driver side rear corner has holes for mounting the later type corner style mount for the antenna.
I will see how my trays fit up to the existing holes in the fender, I have both. C42 and 524 tray to use.
Of interest, there is also a clip just to the right of the driver for what appears to be a radio mike handset...
