"Field mod" normally is a one-off; sorry, I could not find a better term. They were not fitted in the factory like the early square and late round hatches. I suspect these canvas hatches were made as retrofit kits to be fitted by workshops in-theatre. The welding lines are a good start for establishing the size and shape, you will have to find more pictures and work from there as I have never seen any of these hatches on preserved trucks.
