Well, thats all of them.
Good timing too, I just finished uploading as my flight starts boarding.

Yes Rick, museum is open to all, as long as you book ahead.

Wonderful pictures, quite the collection, someone has an eye for keeping history around for the nation.

What is the modern looking cab over / forward control vehicle? The one with the lad with his hands in his pockets beside it.

That collection certainly puts to shame what we have to endure here in Canada. It just shows what pride, interest and a real vision to preserve these artifacts can achieve.

Robin,

It is the Aust prototype XF4 GS truck: two different makers, produced four each for trials. It did not proceed beyond that stage.

To see one under restoration in WA & more info, go to http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?top...36046#msg36046

Wonderful pics. Outstanding collection. Thanks for posting that.
Agree with Ed. Why do we have to suffer here in Canada, when we can do so much more.

the photo before that one interests me as it appears to be a 30cwt Fargo rather then the normal 3 ton Dodge D series.

Pity I can't read the notice on the stand beside it.

What is the situation now with getting to see the museums at Bandianna and Pucka?

Last I heard, both were no longer open to civilians and were on a reduced manning basis? But could be accessed by appointment (if convenient).

Regards
Doug

Douglas,

Can't speak for Pucka museum, but Bandiana is accessible to civilians, though bookings must be made 24 hours (more is best) in advance, call Sharon on 02 6055 2525 to book. There are a finate number of people permitted for each time slot, so the further you book ahead, the more chance of securing a place. You are free to peruse the displays in the building itself, but may not be allowed to walk around the outdoor exhibits, unless an ADF member can go with you.

The above information was correct as of a number of weeks ago, and I have not heard any changes made to those rules. Pity the museum is on an active military base, or access may be much better. I suspect the display conditions of weapons would change dramatically if not on a base.

Certainly a must see.
