Default Formation Flash

The big, unresolved mystery is the use (or not) of a yellow diamond formation flash worn by Canadian troops ('N' Force) in the Caribbean. Many references refer to such a flash yet there is no official documentation or authorization for it. No photographic or actual wartime tunics have been found to support it either...yet the question remains. Was such a flash worn, perhaps unofficially? Was it a 'coming home' or post war veteran thing?

Full disclosure: I have a pair of yellow melton flashes in my collection that match in every respect real Atlantic, Pacific and overseas flashes and I would love to know whether they are real or just a made up fantasy.
