The first picture above with carriers coming ashore from LST 314 is from SALERNO BAY 9th Sept 1943. The first carrier has number T 83025 (?). Note sign 60 on front mudguard.

Hi Stellan;

Did a bit of digging and came up with:

- these are carriers of the 6th Battalion, The Lincolnshire Regiment (the AoS serial '60'); 138th Infantry Brigade, 46th (British) Infantry Division, who began landing across Green Beach, in the British 'Uncle' Sector at 0700hrs on 9 Sep 43.

- the '2nd Brigade' (168th Inf Bde) of the British 56th (London) Infantry Division was not involved with the Salerno landings, it was left behind in Sicily, with the 201st Guards Brigade being attached to the 56th, in its place.

- the Arm of Service serial '60' (on green) denoting the Senior Infantry Battalion of the '2nd Brigade' of an Infantry Division at this time (Sep 43), identifies these carriers as belonging to the 6th Lincolns, who were the Senior Infantry Battalion, in the '2nd Inf Bde' (138th Inf Bde) of the 46th Inf Div., at this time.
