Here some update
After some hard work the last weeks at my MK1 carrier,we have take away the new top armour, the tracks, the pedals, take out the engine and transfercase. We wants to strip the carrier totaly and after grit blast we start to build up the carrier. After we had open the transfercase and look inside we saw that we needs some new parts for it(see pictures). So still a lot of work to do. |

Hi Marcel, The transfer, I call the gear box.
The gear you show is the countershaft or cluster gear from a non syncromesh (crash) box. It is the same in Ford 4 speed and Dodge (WC) 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton 4 speed.

Hi Marcel, the spigot shaft(input) and mainshaft(output) are different. The rest you can use.

Hi all
Here a update about my project of my carrier. Between some visits of military events and a busy period(the summer months) of my work I still found some free time for working at my carrier. I have take out all the broken rivets and repair some bad places and start for clean up/paint some small parts. At April i travel to Italy for visit 2 carrierowners for pickup some carrier parts. I want to ask if there is some one who had a clear/close up photo of the connector of the accelerator rod what is on the leftside of the driver seat. The one i have is broken(see photo's) but for the moment this broken part/the picture of the manual give me not enough information for repair this part and what kind of steel are use for this part. Cheers. Marcel. |
