Many thanks ( ...tanks ) Kevin.

I will ask SGT Fowlis's son Dave for his dad's tank nickname.

That way i will learn the Sqn / troop he worked in.

You you '' Bomb '' is famous and still in existence in Sherbrooke don't you ?

Cheers.

Robert

I believe the name "Toronto" was assumed as a tribute on Greggs Stuart.
My uncle was the one who sandblasted that tank and the name Fury was what was found...

Care to enlighten me on this Stew? Take it off forum if necessary, just going by the history as related to me by a guy who was there at the time as you were

Default Toronto / fury

Hi Chris,

I have been trying to establish if T271450 was issued to 5 CAB HQ only. If not FURY could have been "previously owned". But no joy so far.
Know anything?

Cheers

Kevin

Could Hollywood have stolen the ''Fury '' nickname from us to make a film ?

From the info that I have it appears that LdSH was the only Regiment in 5CAD to be issued Firefly tanks in Italy. Also I think that only one Regiment in 1CAB received them. It may have being the Ontario Regiment (11CAR) because it is the senior regiment of the Brigade. I know that the Three Rivers Regiment did not have Fireflies in Italy.
Can Anybody confirm this? If it is not the 11th, do you know if there were any Fireflies issued to the 1CAB at all in Italy?
