On the Ottawa contacts I have to concur with Malmberg's brake and spring shop...... good service and patient staff. Got my wheel cylinders stock right off the shelf.

Ottawa brake and clutch ...off Innes... did me good by rebuilding flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and sourced a throw out bearing to boot.

Sarsfield Massey-Ferguson (Bourbonnais) dealer sourced the brushes for the starter....seems old Delco tractor starters are the same as CMP.

Machine shops are another matter.... I have had more luck with small rural...owner on site.... you get to talk to the guy doing the job...... had my spring shackle pins done locally...... 30% cheaper than the recommended shop from Malmberg....big sdhop big overhead.... little time to answer simple sum questions from CMP hobbiest.

I had my master cylinder sleeved by John Stuart Brake Shop in Stoney Creek.... came highly recommended by the restoration trade in Barrie and clients in Ottawa. His son had a CMP years ago.....now I beleive he has a jeep and a UC. I am not aware of any shops doing that work in Ottawa......Malmberg said the same thing and recommendeds Stuart to clients in similar predicaments.

On the circular hatch..... if they bothered bending the wood back then no wonder they converted to a square hatch..... with todays glue technology a laminated approach would make more sense.

Was the round hatch actually steam bent???? I have had experience steam bending basket handle for the wife's hobby and would not mind working out a process with you. I might even have some white ash on my property that we could cut and bend while still green. The other possibility is to laminate and mount outboard on a large wood lathe... and shpe to the size and profile you need. I belong to the Ottawa Valley wood turners and I am sure we could find a lathe large enough....oro make one...hahaha....now you remove the rear wheel on the truck and bolt the log to the brake drum....engage gear... and run.

Wire looms maybe another make do project....if only we could find a complete loom to work from....all I had on my truck was connectors and bare strands of wires....would love to tackle that one with some help......

Casting I would look at the Merrickville shop....... although a number of steam engine hobbiest and old make and break gas engines amateurs like Barry Kinsella in Vars did a lot of their own castings with melted pistons and tranny casings and the occasional cast iron work...... wonder if any of the Mennonites in upper NY state do any casting.... I do know they cast a lot of old stuff in the Kitchener area...... I could use a few small pieces.
