Subterfuge in the vehicle collecting hobby? Say it isn't so!!
John You are seeing the blocks in person. The thrid ne (recent take out) is obviously a pre-41 block as it does not have the boss over the waterpump or the mounting points for the oil filter neither cast nor tapped on the left bank. The second engine (no oil pan) appears to have these features, so am I correct in guessing that it is a 46 civilian block? The first engine is supposed to be a military surplus engine. Could you provide the serial number (1G, 2G etc prefix)? It does not look like a Stuart engine in that it doesn't have the rear drive for the generator. Any idea what this engine is from? Perhaps a panguin? While I shoudl have these in my barn by the end of March if all goes well, I am like a kid at Christmas and woudl like to know. I am only learning about the Caddy engines, so if my assumptions are out to lunch, please forgive me and feel free to correct me. Rob Last edited by rob love; 02-03-16 at 17:48. |
