Default Ferret spin on oil filter adapter

I have long wished to not be reliant on the supply chain from the UK for oil filters for the Ferret.

After a lot of deliberation, I made the plunge a while ago and with friends and advisors have gone through the whole design and prototype and trials and proving and lastly production of a quality product.

Through word of mouth the first run is nearly all sold already, there are a few left.

If you contact me by email we can take it from there. The unit price is $125 per unit which includes the adapter and securing bolt and two washers and the filter details we recommend. You buy the filter locally.

Postage is insured and signature required at your cost.

Dear Barry,

thank you for the compliment, that is grand of you to say so.

Although not yet a Canadian myself, enough of my tax dollars have gone into the Canadian economy for me to consider myself Canadian. I am in the process of going the Citizenship route. I have enough close relatives, dead and alive who hold or held Canadian birth certificates or are buried in Canadian cemeteries to solidify that I have a Canadian connection also.

The Maple Leaf is such a powerful symbol it is too obvious to pass up using.

So far I have orders for these around the globe and I don't mind spreading Canadian pride.

There is also another reason for using it which is it forms part of a genuine article identity to my pieces. If one of these units fails for any reason I will replace it free of charge, if the Maple Leaf is missing it is a proven knock off item and I wont warranty that.

I expect with the passage of time that someone will buy one and make knock off items, I have been advised by a few very old and wise folks to expect that as a certainty.

The Maple Leaf will be very hard to reproduce exactly and there are some other proprietary details that having it have put into the product known only to myself and my machinist know, so we are confident that the Maple Leaf will protect things for a while.

Judging by my emails many see the value in an engineered product and I am tickled pink to be able to help others keep their Ferrets on the road. I on the other hand have to build my shop before I can restore my C/S 31 Ferret, but at least this starts to help me pay for various parts of that.

My thanks to Michael R who pointed out some grammar issues with my signature block.

Th first production run has sold out. Furthest away order came from New Zealand.

I am taking orders for the next run, currently waiting 2 weeks for a slot in the production schedule at the machine shop.

I will be taking some of the funds from the second run and donating it to the Forum.

Thanks all, looks like it is well liked.
