There's a GMC 270 engine listed on ebay at the moment that seems to have a serial beginning ACR or AOR with a rebuild tag headed RCEME. Is this of any use to you? http://www.ebay.com/itm/270-GMC-LONG...E:B:SS:CA:1120

Thanks Grant,
That motor is correct for a Staghound, correct crankcase and pulley also. I now have a couple of usable engines to rebuild but thanks for the heads up. ![]() |

There is a story in a recent VMVC newsletter by dinger Belfield . He was on a army reserve exercise in the early 1960's in Gippsland with the Staghounds , he wrote , "they were worn out and prone to breakdowns" his recovery truck was needed often
