Is that a British thing Rob? The mud cleaner. You see it on No.27 limbers but not the 25 pndr gun.

Nice work Rob, I have a question which you might be able to answer the 2 pdr slipper block I have doesn't have the Middle keyed top to it like yours, I'll post two pics one of yours and one of mine, wouldn't be that mine perhaps came out a armoured vehicle rather than artillery piece?

Here is mine, as you can see the top is machined flat.

I think you will find its been chopped off to ease removal of the barrel.
I have some 2 pdr slippers here that came from the original source that your bits came from in Scotland and these have bands cut as well. Rob....................rnixartillery. |

A few more jobs done ,the shield is now top coated and hanging up until its ready to be fitted it also gives the paint time to harden before handling it.
Also a mate has just blast cleaned the platform/saddle and managed to get everywhere which is why I asked him to do it..............Excellent job ! Quite a bit of fiddly stuff to do next fitting the pedals, linkages etc and then paint it. Rob......................rnixartillery Last edited by rnixartillery; 27-07-19 at 21:58. |

It was a standard fitting ,there are some guns in Oz with the brackets fitted . I'm sure Scrivo's portee gun has them fitted and also Robs in Cairns to name a few although some brackets were fitted up side down underneath the frame .Lots of preserved Guns also have them missing completely.
