Thanks for responce and thoughts. You might be right that there is no relation; this was just my assumption based on the info I found in the tables. Indeed it could be that the speed rating is merely based on local max speeds for farm equipment rather than actual characteristics of the tyre. I hadn't though of that!

In the end I am just trying to find what tyre would be best suited for my C8. I am not planning to break any speed records, but it would be nice if I can drive the thing on B roads at a reasonable speed not crossing the max load with one or two friends in the back.
