Jordan.

When I replaced mine years ago, I noted prior to disassembly that 1/8 inch of screw shaft extended below the hex nuts on each bolt inside the cab. When I reassembled the unit, I made sure I had a selection of lengths to give me that option at each hole. Installed the complete hip ring and then just removed each screw in turn as needed to trim to the original length.

My original hardware was pretty rusted up and I expected a lot of lost screws. If the hardware had been in good shape, my plan was to number each hole and corresponding screw at I removed them, so they could be matched up correctly during reassembly.
