The noise did allow me to check the pinion, transfer case which both had wear in them but the major "Elephant in the room" was the transmission all looked great until it all went wrong. 250 K's out of a tank on the dot, have an electric back up fuel pump fitted as I thought to transfer the fuel line from the empty tank to the full tank would take some priming. Not needed at all the pump pulls fuel like there is no tomorrow. I now have it in case of vaporisation.
